Job Context
- TechHack Canada is seeking a highly qualified front-end developer that can play both roles (Designer & Developer) and has experience in react.js
- We firmly believe that UX is one of the most important factors of its success.
- The ideal candidate is someone who can turn ideas into intuitive and easy-to-use applications. You will be involved in the entire process of design and development including workflows and wireframes, usability, and function. You will be required to design the UX/UI for native mobile applications as well as responsive web applications.
Job Responsibilities
- AS A FRONT-END DEVELOPER YOU WILL:
- Develop new user-facing features using React.js
- Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
- Design wireframes, mockups, screens, and workflows for user stories and technical development.
- Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
- Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.
- Undertake project-specific Proof of Concepts activities to validate technical feasibility
- Regular contribution of design-based memes to our #random Cliq channel;
- SKILLS NEEDED:
- Excellent experience in Frontend Development with hand on development in HTML5/CSS3 and Object oriented JavaScript and DOM.
- Knowledge of JavaScript packages, package managers, bundlers, and their use in building complex interactive experiences. Experience using CSS grids and building responsive websites with scalability in mind
- Experience with popular React.js workflows such as Redux, its core principles, and styled components.
- Ability to cut necessary visual assets from PhotoShop and/or Sketch files, and optimize them appropriately.
- Experienced in modern dev tools, processes, es, and methodologies like TDD, Unit Testing & Functional testing using Mocha, Chai, Jest, or other frameworks.
- Proficiency in software relevant to app design - Sketch, Invision Studio, Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator
- NITE TO HAVES:
- Experience creating motion graphics or animations is an asset
- Experience with 3D modeling software is an asset

Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science, Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science
