What is TAWHID?
'Tawhid' means monotheism. To accept and believe in Allah the Highest as One and Second to none is called Tawhid.The basic point of Tawhid is - that Allah the Highest is one and single. He is single in His entity and attributes. He is the only owner worthy of praise and servitude. There is none like Him.
Allah the Highest declares
- ليس كمثله شئج
Meaning: "There is nothing that resembles Him." (Sura Ash-Shura, Verse 11)
Tawhid is the belief in Allah the Highest as the Creator, Nourisher, Sustainer, and the only one worthy of our servitude.
The impact of Tawhid on being virtuous in human life is limitless. Man becomes familiar with the attributes of Allah the highest and practices to be imbued by those. Tawhid also plays an important role in establishing unity and fraternity in human society. All the Prophets and Messengers who come to earth extended the invitation to Tawhid. The gist of the invitation of them all was - attai (La Ilaha Illallah) there is no Allah (God) but Allah.
